Getting Started with Languagenut for the New Academic Year

Welcome back! We hope you had a restful summer and are looking forward to another great year of language learning with your pupils.

To ensure a smooth start to the academic year, follow the steps below to update your Languagenut account. These quick actions will make sure your classes are set up correctly, your staff have access, and your pupils can log in without any issues.

✅ 1. Upload Your New Classes

Each academic year, you’ll need to create new classes in Languagenut so pupils and teachers can access the correct groups and track progress accurately.

Step-by-step:

  • Log in to your Languagenut account and go to the Admin Area
  • Navigate to the Classes area and click Create New
  • Upload or manually create your new classes
  • Remove classes from last year by clicking on 'Classes' in the Admin Area and then the bin icon
    • this doesn't not delete students or assignments

➕ When you download pupil login details, you’ll now get QR codes — ideal for quick logins on tablets or interactive whiteboards!

👩‍🏫 2. Update Your Staff List

Staff members may have joined or left your school over the summer, so it’s important to keep your teacher list up to date.

To remove old staff:

  • Go to Students and Teachers in the Admin Area
  • Click Teachers
  • Find the staff member who has left
  • Click the trash can icon to remove their account

To add new staff:

  • Click Add Teacher
  • Enter their name and email address
  • Send login details directly from the platform

🔄 Wonde Integration

If your school has already integrated Wonde with Languagenut, your pupil and staff data will sync automatically — no need to upload anything manually.

💬 Not yet set up with Wonde?

Contact your Account Manager to enable integration and connect your MIS for a hands-free setup moving forward.

💡 Tips for a Smooth Start

  • When adding students, always use the Last Name, First Name format, and make sure names are entered exactly as they appear on your class register or SIMS.

    This helps to:

    • Prevent duplicate accounts (e.g. “Jonathan Smith” one year vs “Jonny Smith” the next)
    • Make it easier to cross-check names when reviewing homework completion or tracking progress
  • Sticking to a consistent format saves time and keeps your records tidy throughout the year.
  • Use consistent class names that match your school’s current system
  • Encourage staff to log in early to check access
  • Share updated login details (or QR codes!) with pupils before lessons begin
