How are English Proficiency Tests marked

We offer four different CEFR English Tests:

1. English Proficiency Test A1 to B2

2. Developing - CEFR A1

3. Gaining Confidence - CEFR A2

4. CEFR B1 - B2

These tests will automatically end if the student does not reach the pass level listed below. For instance, if the student taking the English Proficiency Test only achieves 40% correct answers in the A2 area, the test will end and the student will be given a grade of A1. To pass A2, they need to get 60% or higher as per below.

A message for your students:

"The English Proficiency Test helps you and your teacher see your English skills and what to learn next. You do it online, in the same place as your other Languagenut work. It looks at four skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.

You will do different activities, like multiple choice, word pop and jigsaw activities. If something moves too fast, you can press the turtle icon to slow it down.

Do not worry. There are no trick questions and there is no pass or fail. All activities are marked straight away, so you see your results quickly. The test just shows what you are good at and what you can practise more, so you can feel more confident in English."
