What’s New in Languagenut: Academic Year 2024–25 🌟

📊 Smarter Admin Tools

  • Admin Area Refresh – updates to make it easier to find what you need.
  • Assignments made easier:
    • Time tracking now includes both practice and quiz time.
    • Teacher instructions are now visible in the assignment overview
    • New “Preview” button in Assignments Overview
    • See classes clearly in “Active” and “Past” assignments.
    • Download written feedback as a PDF.
    • Quickly check what students answered in vocab games, rather than just what they got correct and incorrect.
    • Year 7 baseline assessments now available in French, German, Spanish in your assignment favourites list
    • Gradebook: select all classes at once.
  • Student access made simple – QR codes are now included when downloading login details.
  • Scheme of Work Builder – now available with flexible 14-week set-up options.
  • Content Tools
    • Improved user experienced when uploading and organising your custom content.
    • Revamped vocab visual/display, with ability to upload or record support vocab
    • Duplicate feature added for custom vocab, sentence building, and exam skills

o   Sentence Building now supports audio in learning & support, including dictation.

  • New Support Widget – get instant access to help articles and easy contact with our team, straight from your Admin area.

📚 Better Resources for Teaching & Learning

  • New content for secondary:
    • KS3 GCSE content in German (AQA & Edexcel).
    • New grammar content in French, German and Spanish (Secondary & IGCSE).
    • Italian GCSE vocabulary + Italian phonics and tenses.
    • New Exam Skills Writing translation tasks in KS3 (AQA & Edexcel).
    • Eight new Spanish verbs with full tense coverage.
  • Games with more flexibility:
    • Option to remove timers in vocab games.
    • Turn off sound effects in Sentence Building and Phonics.
    • Word Pop: new controls to slow or stop bubbles.
    • Faster Sentence Building “Forklift” games.
    • Vocab Trainer now has a handy preview option.
  • Exam Skills Upgrades:
    • Listening ‘Who Said What’ activity now includes a results page with correct answers.
    • Transcripts available to download for any listening task.
  • Global School Ranking – a brand-new leaderboard, visible to students, to keep motivation high.
  • New Languages:
    • Urdu
    • Pasifika languages added as support languages for EAL (Cook Island Māori, Tokeluan, Niuean, Tongan, Samoan).

📱 On-the-Go Learning with the Mobile Version

  • New mobile experience – redesigned for a smoother student experience.
  • More practice on mobile: students can now work on Vocab, Grammar and Verbs anywhere.
  • Dictation games now available in Grammar and Sentence Building.
  • EAL support languages can be selected directly in the mobile version.
  • QR code login on mobile – quick and easy student access.

🎓 Support for Teachers

  • Languagenut Certified Teacher Programme – free access for trainee language teachers now live on our UK site
  • EAL Proficiency Testing (EPT) – improved settings and results view for schools with EAL learners.
