Why Does the Wording on Languagenut Look Different? (Browser language settings)

At Languagenut, the wording on our website is based on your browser’s language settings.

If your browser is set to a different version of English (or another language altogether), you may notice words or phrases that don’t match your local school system.

For example:

  • If you are in the UK but your browser is set to US English, you might see “Middle/High School” instead of “Secondary School”, or "Elementary" instead of "Primary".
  • If your browser is set to another language (like Spanish, French, etc.), parts of the wording might appear in that language or use different regional terms.

How to Fix It

To make sure Languagenut uses the wording that matches your location, change your browser’s language settings to English (United Kingdom).

  1. Open Chrome and click the three dots in the top-right corner.
  2. Go to Settings > Languages.
  3. Click Add languages if English (United Kingdom) isn’t listed.

  5. Click the three dots next to it and select Display Google Chrome in this language.
  6. Drag English (United Kingdom) to the top of your language list.
  7. Restart Chrome and refresh Languagenut.

How to Change Your Language in Safari (Mac)

Safari uses your Mac’s system language:

  1. Click the Apple menu > System Settings (or System Preferences).
  2. Go to General > Language & Region.
  3. Make sure English (UK) is at the top of your Preferred Languages list.
